It’s good for you!
Every quarter we will be having a promotion to try and encourage our pupils to eat and drink more healthily – our first is to encourage the boys and girls to drink more milk. We are trialling milk shakes at lunchtime once a month and these are proving extremely popular!
Milk – it’s good for you!
There are plenty of drinks that are full of sugar, flavouring, artificial ingredients and contain high doses of caffeine – milk isn’t one of them!
Did you know that milk is considered “nature’s wellness drink”?
The cold, creamy white beverage is full of calcium, vitamin D, phosphorous and a balance of other nutrients that have been proven to build your bones and teeth as well as promote the healthy functioning of your muscles and blood vessels. And in the midst of all the new vitamin waters, energy drinks and other artificially contrived beverages, milk is a natural, healthy choice.
Milk is naturally nutrient-rich and balanced with a unique proportion of carbs and protein. It’s also naturally low in sodium and also contains potassium which plays a role in maintaining healthy blood pressure.
Did you know that milk drinkers tend to have stronger bones?
Did you know that mothers who drink milk are more likely to have daughters who drink milk?
Did you know that three delicious 8 ounce glasses of milk gives your body 100% of its daily calcium needs and 75% of your vitamin D and a host of other essential nutrients from high quality protein to potassium, phosphorous, vitamin A and vitamin B12?
Did you know that milk also contributes to your daily hydration needs because it’s 90% water? Essential to virtually every bodily function.
Drink more milk – you know it makes sense!
