Last week was British Science Week, with the theme of ‘Journeys’. The week is a celebration of science, technology, engineering and maths.
Each class thoroughly enjoyed themselves!
Form 1 – focused on journeys involving flight and they made and tested 3 different types of flying machines.
Form 2 – focused on how bridges are used for making journeys. The aim was to make the strongest bridge from just one piece of A4 paper.
Form 3 – learnt about how fossils are made and how they have been important in the journey of knowledge of how life has evolved on Earth.
Form 4 – we discussed the journey of electricity and how it reached our home. They then made their own Buzz wire game.
Form 5 – focused on the journey of pollution into the air and water and carried out an investigation to test whether puddle water had pollutes in or not.
Form 6 – focused on a lady called Mary Anning, who was one of the first Paleontologists and realised the importance of fossils. They made a storybook of her life.
