Internet Safety at WPS

The safeguarding of children is of paramount importance and, with advances in technology, the need to protect children from the risks associated with the use of digital media is vital.

The online world can be a wonderful place for young people to explore, with unprecedented opportunities for learning and creativity, but just like the real world there are risks and dangers they should be aware of and which we should all act to protect them from.

At Wilmslow Prep we take this issue very seriously and safe use of digital media, including the internet, is encouraged and taught throughout the year as part of the curriculum.

Tuesday 5th February, was National Safer Internet day. In support of this initiative, WPS offered a range of age-appropriate activities, assemblies and lessons planned for the children throughout this week to highlight the issues surrounding the safe use of the internet.

In conjunction with this,  PC Jane Commins, from Cheshire Police, will be coming into School to update parents on what can be done to keep your children safe when using the internet and digital devices outside of School. This event will take place 5th March, 6:30pm.
