Our Harvest Festival was a wonderful celebration of generosity and the importance of helping others, as the whole Wilmslow Prep community came together to support Hope Central.
Hope Central is a local charity dedicated to supporting people in need within the community. Through practical help, food support and a welcoming environment, the charity works to make a positive difference to individuals and families who may be experiencing difficult times. Their work provides vital support while helping people feel connected, valued and cared for.
With this in mind, our children and their families generously donated hundreds of food items, creating an impressive collection of essential supplies for Hope Central to distribute to those who need them most.
The collection was co-ordinated by our very own Prep 6 ‘Harvest’ Team, who took on the responsibility of organising the donations and encouraging pupils across the school to get involved. It was wonderful to see the whole school pulling together, with children of all ages contributing to this important cause.
Harvest is traditionally a time to give thanks for the food and resources we have, and our Festival provided a lovely opportunity for the children to think beyond themselves, and consider how they can help others in their local community. The generous response from our families was a wonderful demonstration of the kindness and community spirit that are such an important part of life at Wilmslow Prep.
