On a beautiful afternoon in late September the girls in Forms 5 & 6 travelled to Stoneyhurst College to take part in a Netball Festival.
The Form 6 girls played some excellent netball, the defense of Laura, Ronica and Elizabeth thwarted the opposition when they tried to take their shooting chances and the attacking play by Gabby and Alana worked well to provide the ball to the Preps shooting duo of Ameerah and Emily who ended up netting a total of 16 goals between them. This was enough to see the girls run out the overall winners in the afternoon’s competition.
On the other court some stylish play by the Form 5 girls saw them win their first game 4-0 with some superb calm confident shooting by Scarlett who popped four goals into the net. The other games were hard fought and defensively Iman, Ayesha, Jessica and Maham had a lot of pressure, which they absorbed well at times. The attack of Grace, Alex and Alliya saw us getting the ball to Scarlett who had several other shooting chances but the opposition had a very well drilled GD and GK who marked well. Grace and Alex also got onto the score card with three great goals from Grace and an absolute pearl of a shot from Alex.
Overall the girls enjoyed their afternoon of netball and climbed aboard the bus to go home tired but happy with their afternoons work.
