On Wednesday, 26th June, the EYFS children celebrated the end of their Barnardo’s Charity Big Toddle Animal-themed project with a sing-song followed by a spectacular parade around the playground and some well deserved jelly and ice cream.
Throughout the project the children have been given an indication of the world’s biodiversity by learning about the incredible wild, farm and domestic animals who share our world. Among the many fun games and activities the children undertook were the making of farmyards, masks, binoculars and maps; they became explorers, pretended to be animals and listened to animal stories. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed a great experience.
Thank you to the parents and families of the children for providing an array of wonderful animal costumes and accessories and for so generously supporting the Barnardo’s Charity. Together we have raised a magnificent £472.42. Under the terms and conditions of Barnardo’s Charity, 25% (£118), will be retained by school for use in the EYFS ‘Welly Wednesday’ Outdoor Classroom and £354.42 will be sent to Barnardo’s.
